Dick Taylor with Angelina Grimshaw

DICK TAYLOR with JC & ANGELINA
RAW BLUES PROJECT

Guitarist, Dick Taylor (original Pretty Things and original Rolling Stones) has formed a new raw blues project with stunning sibling roots duo JC and Angelina Grimshaw. They are currently taking the Isle of Wight by storm and have recently played a knock-out gig in Belgium.

Fascinated at a young age by urban blues and early rock and roll Dick Taylor teamed up with school friend Mick Jagger and formed a rehearsing (mainly in Dick’s parents’ back room) group, making a demo tape they named themselves Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys, when Dick progressed to art school he met up with Keith Richards who joined the band. When they encountered Brian Jones at the Ealing club they were recruited into Brian’s band with Dick on bass, the Rolling Stones were born…

Having a hankering to play guitar again Dick joined up with another art student, Phil May to form the Pretty Things, something that encompassed 57 years (so far). While on a sabbatical from the Pretties Dick produced Hawkwind’s first album, as ones by Cochise and Skin Alley amongst others. In the Eighties Dick played gigs and recorded with the Mekons and was also a “Man from Uncle” in breaks from Pretty Things gigs.

When he moved to the Isle of Wight Dick became acquainted with the music scene there and would frequently guest with J.C. and Angelina Grimshaw, something which has grown into this latest project which has wowed every audience they have played in front of.

JC and Angelina Grimshaw have been grabbing audiences’ attention with their performances at folk, blues and jazz clubs and festivals in the U.K and Europe.
J.C. Grimshaw is a song writer/multi-instrumentalist he has recorded 4 solo albums and 2 albums with his sister. He plays guitars, mandolins, harmonica, ukulele and Hawaiian lap guitar with a deep rooted passion.
