One Nordic weirdo, one cast out teen TV star and one dreamy butcher's son. Through friends and flyers these three soul searching misfits find each other. There's energy in the room. They call it BURDEN. They act tough, they write tough music. And they are lucky: Label deal, European tour, full-on take-off.
But realization soon hits as soon as it hits hard: This is not real. Just a role they were playing.
A constraining role that lacks purpose and positivity and just does not seems to fit
They pack up everything and drop out. Tabula rasa
This time, they would not pull any punches: For two years they locked themselves in on a quest for their true identities. Stripped of all self-denial and fakery, they felt free for the first time. Free to explore their own style, their own art, their own real personas. CAPITANO lives. Without restraint.
Now anything goes in this chemical mix of creative energy and friendship.
To risk and survive a leap of faith like this – That's what turns a band into an everlasting bond.
Spring 2018, CAPITANO release their debut album "Hi!". And off they go: Sold out release shows, music critics at a loss for words and an arch conservative shitstorm following a morning show performance on live television. But just like national TV, Apple Music saw something in this bunch, and invited Capitano, one of very few German acts, to do an exclusive live video performance in their name.
The result: Shows in Sweden, Canada and Germany. Capitano continue to raise eyebrows, driving festival crowds into a frenzy, managing to more than once steal the show as supporting act for the big shots, and causing a scene wherever they go.
2019 marks a first pay day: CAPITANO will perform at Summerfest, biggest music festival in the world. All the while preparing new songs, new tours, new wild ideas.
Or as the fortune cookie foretold: A new year will provide a new perspective.
